About Us

What We Believe

The following is a summation of what we believe are the foundational beliefs of those who are followers of Jesus.  While there are other very important teachings and doctrines we hold to, these are the primary ones.  For a more detailed statement click here to view the doctrinal statement of the denomination with which we are affiliated (Christian and Missionary Alliance).

1 God exists and created us to know, honor and worship Him.  Genesis 1-2 • Deuteronomy 6:4 • Mark 12:28-31

2. God has revealed Himself to us in the authoritative texts of the Bible. While our opinions, experiences and consciences can be useful, the Bible is the final authority. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 • 2 Peter 1:20-21

3. We have sinned and are separated from God.  We have messed things up worse than we realize by making ourselves, not God, the center of our lives.    Romans 3:10-23 • Romans 6:23

4. God loves us extravagantly and made things right by coming in the person of Jesus to live,  die and rise again. We are made right with God when we    entrust our lives to Jesus. Based on  this commitment we will eternally  experience relationship with God forever (heaven) or  experience separation     from God forever (hell).  John 1:1-14 • John 3:16 • Acts 4:12 •  1 Corinthians 15:1-9 • Revelation 20:11-15

5. The Holy Spirit actually indwells people who entrust their lives to Jesus.  John 14:15-18 • John 16:5-11 • John 16:13-14 • Acts 1:8 • Romans 8:11

6. Jesus left us with the mission of reaching people in our closest circles of relationships (friends,  neighbors etc.) as well as people all over the world    who have never heard of him.       Matthew 5:13-16 • Matthew 28:19-20 • Acts 1:8

7. Jesus will actually return to the earth to reign over a new heavens and a new earth.
     John 14:1-3 • 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 • Titus 2:11-14 • Revelation 21:3-4
